PPSC Recruitment 2020 – Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has announced an online notification for recruitment to the post of Junior Engineers in the Department of Water Supply and Sanitation. There are 85 vacancies are to be filled for this posts. Interested candidates who are all eligible for this post can apply on or before 18 December 2020. The detailed eligibility and selection process are given below in detail.

The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC), formerly known as the Joint Public Service Commission, is a government agency and topmost constitutional body of the Government of Punjab, India. It is responsible for conducting civil services and competitive examinations to various civil services and departmental posts in the jurisdiction of Punjab, India.

Detailed Eligibility:

Educational Qualification: 

For Junior Engineers (Civil):

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or its equivalent/higher qualification from a recognized University or institution or any other equivalent or higher qualification recognized by the Government.

For Junior Engineers (Mechanical/Electrical):

• Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or its equivalent/higher qualification from a recognized
  University or institution or any other equivalent or higher qualification recognized by the Government.

Note: Punjabi of Matric or its equivalent Standard is compulsory for both the posts

Age limit (as on 01-01-2020):

For General – 18 to 37 years.

Upper age is relaxable by:

• 45 years for Punjab Govt. and its Board/Corporation/Commission and Authorities employees, all States/ Central Government employees.
• 42 years for Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes of Punjab, Widows, Divorcees and certain other Categories of Women
• 47 years for Persons with Disability of Punjab.

PPSC Recruitment Selection Process :

• The selection process will be based on written test and interview.
• The Commission shall hold Competitive written Examination for recruitment to these posts tentatively in January, 2021. Total Marks for Competitive Examination is 300 marks.
• The pattern for written exam comprising of 120 questions (@ 2.5 marks for each question and Time allotted 2 Hours) would be Questions from the syllabus of Subject is for 250 marks, Questions from Logical Reasoning, Mental ability and General Knowledge is for 50 marks
• There will be no negative marking in the written test, for questions wrongly answered or questions not answered
