VSSC offers opportunity for project work (Main Project) to final year students undergoing the following courses, in limited numbers.
M Tech/ME and MSc & MPhil (Physics/Chemistry)
B Tech
Guidelines
1. For M Tech/ME and M Sc & M Phil (Physics/Chemistry) Students
• Maximum duration allowed for the project is 6 months for MSc & MPhil, and 12 months for MTech
• Pre-requisite for MSc project work is 65% marks (minimum) in BSc and for MPhil project work is 65% marks(minimum) in MSc
• Students who intend to do the project work, starting any time in January to June should submit the application and declaration in prescribed forms duly filled in all respects along with biodata on or before 15th November of the previous year. Decision on the acceptance/rejection of the application will be communicated to the college during December.
•Students who intend to do the project work, starting any time in July to December should submit the application and declaration forms duly filled in all respects along with biodata on or before 15th May of the same year. Decision on the acceptance/rejection of the application will be communicated to the college during June.
•The applications should be forwarded to Head, HRDD, VSSC, ISRO P.O, Thiruvananthapuram 695 022
2. For B Tech Students
•Students studying in colleges within Kerala alone will be considered.
•The duration of the project work will be for a block period consisting of 6 weeks
VSSC offers 8 block periods annually viz
i) 1st Jan – 15th Feb | v) 1st Jul – 15th Aug |
ii) 16th Feb – 31st Mar | vi) 16th Aug – 30th Sep |
iii) 1st Apr – 15th May | vii) 1st Oct – 15th Nov |
iv) 16th May – 30th Jun | viii) 16th Nov – 31st Dec |
The student can choose one out of the eight block periods as given above.
•Applicants (a group of maximum 4) must be from the same branch, semester and college.
•Each general category applicant should have a minimum of 75% marks for the first five semesters.
•The application, in the prescribed form, completed in all respects by the applicants and duly approved by the Principal, should be forwarded to Head, HRDD, VSSC, ISRO P.O, Thiruvananthapuram 695 022 to reach two months before the block period
•Decision on the acceptance/rejection of the application will be communicated to the college or first applicant or the contact person in VSSC.
General Note:
1.The number of students admitted for projects may vary due to facility constraints. It is the prerogative of VSSC to accept/reject the application for Project Work.
2.On account of the large number of applications normally received for project work, it may not be possible to accommodate all the applicants. Therefore the students are advised to identify other organisations also as an alternative, in the event of their application not getting through in the selection process.
3.Dual degree, Integrated PG, Internship, Industrial Training, Summer Training etc are not entertained.
4.Priority will be given to the wards of ISRO employees.

ISRO , NRSC summer internship / student project 2021 :
Student Projects
National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), Outreach Facility Jeedimetla, Department of Space (DOS) provides an opportunity to the students for carrying out projects as part of fulfillment of PG and UG courses. These allotments are strictly on requirement, depending on the projects/ programmes at NRSC.
Eligibility and Duration
ISRO , SAC summer internship / student project 2021 :
SAC through its SAC-Academic Associate Programme (SAC-AAP), provides opportunity to students for internship at SAC in various domains including but not limited to electronics, mechanical, civil, electrical, remote sensing and GIS, mathematical modelling, image processing, RF systems, Digital systems, electro-optics, microwave and radars etc.
SAC-Academic Associate Programme (SAC-AAP):
The in-plant training programme (ITP) is open for students from academic institutes located in different parts of the country. It has been renamed as “SAC-Academic Associate Programme (SAC-AAP)” in 2014. SAC-AAP provides an opportunity for students to work with scientists/engineers on SAC projects and it has the following three schemes.
- Work-Experience Internship (WEI):
It is offered to engineering graduate (BE/BTech) students who are studying in India for their final year/semester project work for a period of minimum 4-6 months. - Dissertation Internship (DI):
It is offered to post-graduate (ME/MTech/MSc/MCA) students who are studying in India for their final year/semester dissertation for a period of 6-12 months. - 3. Research Internship (RI):
It is offered to PhD scholars who are registered in Indian institutes for doing their thesis work which are relevant to SAC for a period of 4-12 months.
The students need to keep in mind following information/guidelines.
- Preference is given to M.Tech/M.Sc students of longer duration.However, We take a few undergraduate engineering students for their final semester full-time projects.
- No stipend/transport facility is provided during the training.
- Canteen facility is provided only on working days on payment basis.
- Access to library is provided on working days.
- No evaluation is done at our end.Students are allowed to take only report of the work done. Only certificate is issued at the end of the internship.
- No publication will be done without the knowledge of Project Mentor of SAC.
- Eligibility: Minimum first class is sine qua non throughout education (SSLC onwards).
- A student will get only one chance for internship in a programme.
- As per GTU norms, BE/BTech students are allowed to come once in a week only for Industry Defined Projects in 7th semester. Considering the practical difficulties in accommodating BE/BTech 7th semester students who comes once in a week, it is proposed to take these students only in the 8th semester,who can come minimum four working days in a week.
- Students are entertained through their academic institution only.
- General letter or NOC will not be entertained. No students should contact directly any officials at SAC. Any form of influence will not be entertained.
- Reply/Regret will be sent to the respective institution only well in advance. Intimation is sent on December for January session and on June for July session.
- Selected students will get an opportunity to work on specific ongoing/study project of his discipline under the guidance of a senior scientist/engineer. Topic of project work will be informed after joining at SAC.
- The following is the deadline for receiving applications from institutes for internship.
- April 30 : for June Session
- October 31 : for January Session
- Interested students may contact concerned HOD/Training & Placement Officer of the respective institution for sending consolidated formal request letter at the following address at least three months before starting of the internship.

ISRO , URSC summer internship / student project 2021 :
Student’s Endeavour:
URSC being a leading Organization of ISRO provides an opportunity for student’s community to carry out their project work as part of their academic curriculum. In order to make use of good talents from the academic institutes, professional students of engineering category have been given permission to perform project work in the area of design and development which are useful to the Organisation. Opportunity is provided for both Undergraduate (BE/B.Tech) & Post graduate (ME/M.Tech/M.Sc/MCA) students to carry out their project work.
Following are the guidelines for pursuing the project work in URSC:
- Eligibility criteria: Minimum of 70% marks in all semesters of M.E/M.Tech/M.Sc/MCA & B.E/B.Tech
- Maximum duration allowed is 10-12 months for M.E/M.Tech students, 6-8 months for M.Sc & MCA students, 4 months for BE/B.Tech students
- No Stipend, transport & canteen facility will be provided during the training
- Access to library is provided on Working days
- Students has to apply for the project work only through their academic institutions
- Project completion certificate will be issued at the end of the project
- A student will be provided only one chance to carry out the project work in URSC
Please note:
- The students will be allotted project work at URSC based on the availability of projects & facilities only.
- Since lot of request are received normally, it may not be possible to provide project work for all students. Hence students may parallelly try other Organizations also in the event of their application not getting through the selection process.

ISRO , IIRS summer internship / student project 2021 :
Institutional Policy for Carrying out Dissertation/ Summer Training by External Students Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), ISRO carries out research in frontier areas of Remote Sensing and Geoinformatics as an integral part of its objective of providing education at Postgraduate level and facilitating capacity building amongst the user community in geospatial technology and applications. As part of the outreach policy of the institute, it also provides opportunities to bright external students at Postgraduate/ Undergraduate levels from different Universities/ Institutes/ Colleges across the country for carrying out dissertation/ summer training.
IIRS adopts the following policy for facilitating the external students to carry out dissertation/ summer training.
1. IIRS will facilitate students pursuing B.Tech./ B.E./ B.Sc.(Engg.)/ M.Sc./ M.Sc. (Tech.)/ M.E./ M.Tech/ MCA for carrying out research project, which could be submitted as a dissertation to the concerned university/ institute/ college for the award of the degree. The minimum duration of research project at IIRS campus is Three months and the maximum duration is One year.
2. The applications from Postgraduate/ Undergraduate students for summer training/ internship of six to eight weeks period will also be entertained as a special case only for the candidate having blood relation with ISRO/ DOS employee or candidate(s) from reputed institutes such as IITs, IISc, IIST, NITs, IIITs, SPAs, ISM, etc.
3. Applications for attachment of Postgraduate/ Undergraduate students should be sent through the Training and Placement Officer/ Dean/ Registrar of the respective Universities/ Institutes/ Colleges with full CV of the student(s). Direct applications from external students are not accepted. Also, direct applications to IIRS faculty are not accepted. 4. The final selection of the candidates is subject to the approval of competent authority. The selected candidates will be informed by post/ email. All selected candidates, who join IIRS, will be treated as External Students. The selection of candidates by IIRS shall be final and no further enquiries in this regard will be entertained by IIRS. The maximum number of external students for research work/ summer training to be taken in a year shall be decided by IIRS.
5. No accommodation or financial support will be provided by IIRS to the external students while pursuing the dissertation/ summer training at IIRS.
6. The selection of candidates will be based on academic merit, their suitability in the ongoing research/ operational programmes of IIRS, availability of appropriate supervisors, etc. The candidates should have a minimum of 65% marks in the qualifying examination (cumulative until last semester) and should have studied mathematics up to 12th standard. Candidates having knowledge in Remote Sensing and GIS, and computer programming will be preferred.
7. Research Projects by Post Graduate Students: The concerned HoD of IIRS will identify the research topic and a suitable faculty at IIRS as thesis/ dissertation guide/ supervisor. The identified IIRS faculty will either be the: (1) sole guide/supervisor, OR (2) first guide/supervisor. The research topic allotted to the students will be within the overall framework of research and operational programmes of IIRS and the completed work could be published only after seeking the written approval of concerned HoD/ faculty at IIRS. Once a Postgraduate student is -2- provisionally selected for carrying out research at IIRS, an Undertaking (Annexure-I) has to be signed by the student and the competent authority of the sponsoring University/ Institute.
8. After the successful completion of the Project/ Summer Internship and submission of thesis/ dissertation, the students will request for No Dues certificate from concerned HoD. The students later will receive a certificate of completion from HoD or GH or Dean (A), IIRS after the submission of thesis/ dissertation.
9. The external students may avail mess facility in IIRS hostel subject to prior approval from Hostel Warden. The students, however have to pay the Mess charges on monthly basis in advance for availing the mess facility.
10. IIRS will be providing library facility to all registered external students for consultation purpose only. Books/journals will not be issued.
11. In case of Postgraduate students, two hard copies (one for IIRS supervisor and one for IIRS Library) and a digital copy (in CD-ROM) of the final dissertation report will be submitted by the students for record. While in case of Undergraduate students, only one copy of the dissertation and a digital copy (in CD-ROM) will be provided by the students for IIRS supervisor after the completion of the project work and before leaving IIRS.

ISRO , NARL summer internship / student project 2021 :
(A) Students pursuing M.Tech/MCA/M.Sc/B.Tech or equivalent course preferably in Atmospheric Science / Physics / Electronics / Computers from the Government/AICTE/University recognized institutes.
(B) The number of Project batches shall be limited by the availability of Guides at NARL and suitability/relevance of the Topic/ Project to NARL.
(C) Each project batch shall not contain more than three students.
(D) All students should have scored more than 65% throughout the career.
(E) The minimum period of the project should be more than 3 months.
Intake Procedure :
(1) A request letter (addressed to Director, NARL) for project work from Head of the Department/Principal of the College/Institute. The letter shall contain
(i) Names of the students
(ii) Duration of the project and likely commencement date of the project
(iii) and that carrying out project/training is part of curriculum
(iv) Topics on which project needs to be carried out
This letter should be accompanied by detailed biodata of all the students of the batch with subjects taken at various academic levels, Project work details. The information provided should be sufficient to take a decision.
Requests from Individuals are not considered.
(2) The above request letter shall reach us at least 30 days before the required start date of the Project Work/ Training to the following address:

(a) Projects /Training shall be offered mostly on First come First Basis to the eligible batches and on the availability of the Guides at NARL. However in any case not more than two batches will be taken from same college. Decision by NARL shall be final.
(b) Upon confirmation, a week before the start date, a letter along with Guidelines to be followed at NARL will be sent by e-mail to the HOD., to be forwarded to the project students..
Project work/Training Procedure :
(1) Project Work/ Training Programme at NARL is based on Guide- Student relationship whereby NARL Guide allocates the project, guides the student(s) and may give assignments to complete the project work.
(2) On completion of the Project Work, the Guide and Coordinator, Student Project Cell will sign the project completion certificate.
Others:
Any Publication/Communication to any Journal that results from the work shall have consent of the Guide and NARL. No accommodation, Transport, stipend shall be provided to the project students. There is no fee for carrying out project works at NARL. NARL reserves the right of not considering any or all requests and close/discontinue the Programme without assigning any reasons. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
